Reckless Kelly
The roots-rockers have called Austin home for more than 15 years, moving to Texas from Idaho and eschewing Nashville's commercial machine in the process. "We haven't tried to form our music to please the masses or program directors. We've always kind of done what we've wanted to do," chief songwriter Willy Baun says. The band may not quite fit in with the Nashville crowd on country radio, but the tight quintet's alt-country, hick-rock sound and outlaw mentality are right at home on the Texas scene.
